Predator Helios 300 I7, 3070ti, 16gb ddr5, help me understand if/when I should use Turbo mode

hey guys,

after a 10 year hiatus I just got back into pc gaming with the Helios 2022 in title

I am trying to understand turbo mode a little better.

I am currently primarily playing CSGO and I will be going hard in the paint with Diablo 4

I have been using turbo mode thinking it was just the fans but I realize now it’s also over clocking the GPU

so my question is, should I primarily be playing in Extreme mode vs Turbo? only using Turbo if I need more performance? CSGO runs 300+ FPS no matter what but I suspect Diablo 4 will run lower.

I have read about people under voltimg the older Helios models but I’ll be honest and say I dont really know what that means. Is that something I should be doing on my 2022 model? I’d like to keep this laptop going for a solid 5 years+ if I can

lastly what kind of maintenance schedule should I be sticking too and where do I find a guide on cleaning my fans, I live in an apartment that was built in the 90s it isn’t overly dusty but I do get some dust build up on surfaces after a few weeks of no dusting

Turning on//off Turbo boost has a similar effect switching from and to an i3 processor. if you are playing short games and your CPU temp is around 70°C turn on Turbo Boost to get better performance but if you play heavy games for a long period and you see the temp. reach 95°C, turn Turbo Boost off. Overdrive makes the pixels transition colors faster, basically it reduces ghosting. It does this by "over-volting" the operating voltage of the pixels. BUT in doing so, especially in the extreme setting, it can make the pixels "overshoot" their desired color. In short summary. Leave Overdrive on "normal".
