Windows 11 update killed my Acer 3 laptop - it was a present for my daughter's birthday and she's only been able to use it for 2 days. A developer friend of mine rolled it back to Windows 10 but it's now crashed again and won't do a repair. Please can anyone help me??

Can you still boot to the Acer logo? Once you get the Acer logo quickly press Alt+F10 that will get you the Blue Screen with the Troubleshoot menu. Navigate to "Reset this PC, lose all your files" (complete reformat the drive). What model Aspire E or A (full number please). How was the laptop upgraded (and by who) from W10 to W11, by the Windows10 upgrading app or with a manual Clean install using a USB drive and ISO file? Obviously, it was not correctly done as a simple W11 update cannot cause a crash like that.

Thank you both, I now can't get to the blue screen to select the restore function, I now have a message saying 'no bootable device'.
The W11 upgrade came via the laptop itself.

I will contact Acer support as suspicions are that it is a hardware issue.
