Predator PH315-55 Keeps freezing completely up and the only way to free it is to do a hard reboot.

I have sent it in to them 3 times and have opened 4 tickets and no none can seem to find the problem. They just keep replacing stuff and then sending it back to me. I have had it since late Dec, I don't game and its not heated at all. Usually I am just on a page reading news or working on a document.

Hard rebooting with the Power Button may cause system corruption and should only be used as last resort. Can you not abort the stalling with the Esc key or Ctrl + Alt + Del?

Are you plugged in or on battery when this happens?

Did Acer Services reinstall Windows or just checked the HW?

What you are experiencing with your Predator PH315-55 laptop is unfortunately a common problem with some of these laptops of freezing and turning off, I've got a Nitro 5 AN515-56 14 months old, and this happened to my laptop when it was a month old and new, for no reason, what I did is the following and after doing the reset it never ever happened again, so do this:

Turn your PH315-55 laptop off completely, open the back cover and disconnect and take the main battery out first (after that, press the keyboard power button for 10sec to discharge all the power out of the laptops circuitries') then disconnect the bios battery from the mobo plug (see the caption below) and then and straight after disconnecting the bios battery plug, have a paper clip to short the +&- pins out, this resets in the CMOS of the laptop to be reset also, then take the ram out and leave the laptop like that for 15min with all parts and battery disconnected.

All the above, resets the Super IO and the bios chips of the laptop, after 15min reconnect all components, as that will reset the laptop and it will make it work and reboot 100%. Btw, I've got a Nitro 5 laptop also, and this happened to me, and this is how I fixed the black screen, as after doing this all the above (12 months ago) my Nitro 5 laptops has worked perfectly even since.

Note: make sure that your laptop has the appropriate and latest BIOS and Firmware versions installed, as the PH315-55 last appropriate BIOS last is (v1.10 is only for Indonesian Wi-Fi 5.15-5.35GHz band of 6E) but the universal BIOS and the one that should be installed in your laptop, is the Version: 1.08 and also the Firmware, that is the “Update VBIOS NVVDD EDPc setting change from 90A to 135A Geforce RTX 3060 VBIOS ver: 94.06.36.00.62 or 94.06.36.00.61” version v1.02a" which greatly assists in the performance of your laptop and reduces the problems that you have.

Also, make sure that you have the latest Win-11 Windows Updates, NVidia gpu drivers (make sure you uninstall all previous old NVidia drivers) before installing the latest NVidia driver, and make sure that all the latest Intel drivers are installed (install the Intel Driver & Support Assistant software) that will update the chipset, graphics, Wi-Fi, BT and audio drivers, to be up to date for Win-11, as doing all the above will make your Predator PH315-55 laptop work perfectly and 100% without any freezes or crashes. Remember that the predator PH315-55 is a high end gaming laptop and needs to be updated to the latest drivers, otherwise you will encounter problems.
