I purchased your Acer 315 Model N19Q3 chromebook today, and when I tried to watch the history channel, which is my favorite channel, I get a message that pops up thar says"you have to disable your ad blocker." I do not have an ad blocker installed. I called Acer support and got no help, I emailed History channel and they said it was acers problem, I called Google and they were no help. Any one have any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Add Blocker bloatware for Androids is installed in Safari, Chrome or Opera, you should uninstall it if you can locate it:

As I said I do not have Ad Blocker installed. So I guess your saying that Chrome added this without my knowledge? I do not use Android, I have checked extensions, add ons and can not find ad blocker anywhere. Itried downloading Firefox on my Acer Chromebook and , but couldn't.

I am a senior citizen, and find this very frustrating, any more ideas how I can resolve this?

narrowsec4, I do not appreciate that answer. Find a project to make better use of your time.

I tried to go to History.com with my Acer Spin 513 and it wouldn't even load. I used Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin without any problem. I think that perhaps the problem is with the site. I have no problem running History Channel videos from YouTube.

Yes, History Channel's paywall can be a little awkward to get setup. You can ignore the ad blocker message if you don't have an ad blocker installed. You do have to login to history channel with the right credentials to prove that you are paying for their channel, usually through your cable provider.

Strange thing is I can watch the History channel with no issues on my desk top pc running win 10.

I wanted to try a Chromebook and check out the features, so I could decide if I wanted to buy a Chromebook, or a windows PC.

    tHANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE.
