Hello,

I have total clean harddrive in PC (Acer, Nitro AN517-55). Now, I want to install OS Windows 10. But, there is no option in BIOS to choose BOOT from USB.

Do not give me an advice to disable ,,Secure Boot". I tried everything. My the only one option is to boot OS from USB, but BIOS does not offer this option in BOOT PRIORITY ORDER.

Before there were Windows Boot Manager. But now, harddrive is clean and there is no option.

OPTION BOOT MODE is unavailable. Cannot change selected option - UEFI. (I have read many articles about changing to legacy mode, but I cant change this option, it´s fixed).

SO

  1. no MS recovery enviroment
  2. no option to choose boot from USB
  3. clean harddrive

When I start PC, there is CAUTION:

Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert Recovery Media and Hit any key. Then Select Boot Manager to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media.

BUT: Boot Manager does not show any option because in BIOS is no chance to add anything (USB).

Please, need some advice and help.

Thx

When you have burnd the USB with the media creation tool it should appear. how did you make the stick :)? Also you may be able to boot straight to it by going into th eboot slection menu rather than the UEFI setup (f10 or f12 maybe)

I created USB with the Media Creation Tool. But it didn´t appear anywhere (PC does not react to mounted USB)!!!

Boot Manager (F12) is enable, but there is not option for booting.

What you have in BOOT PRIORITY ORDER, the same orders are in Boot Manager (F12). And I wrote that I have no option in BOOT PRIORITY ORDER.

The problem is in BIOS - InsydeH20 that it doesnt provide to change to Legacy or CSM mode from UEFI. Is it possible that newer versions of motherboards do not have any more support by Legacy or CSM ? And now is not possible to relaunch BIOS to Legacy or CSM mode? https://appuals.com/fix-system-doesnt-have-any-usb-boot-option/

Need an advice how to configure BIOS.

Anywhere? Not even from within windows?

Legcy isnt supported anymore but windows 10 doesnt use that to boot, you shouldnt need to configure anything really, as long as the drive is formatted to FAT, and then the installed burned to it the pc should pick up the stick. I thought the media creation tool also formatted the stick but maybe not, within windows what does it show on the partition table?

Not even showing the Windows Boot Manager.in the BIOS boot device window could indicate a SSD partioning issue, take out that USB stick, reboot to BIOS and reset UEFI/BIOS to factory defaults first if that sill shows an empty BOOT PRIORITY ORDER list. Are you sure your boot HDD/SSD is in GPT format, not MBR? Are all your drives showing correctly on the main page of BIOS?

    LEOSTAT:

After 3. attempt to create bootable USB in Media Creation Tool and accepting in needed PC worked. Dont know why, but now BIOS indicate USB stick in BOOT PRIORITY ORDER LIST and it is possible to reinstall Windows. Thanks a lot for your advice.

    Puraw,

to your advice to: 1) reset BIOS/UEFI to factory defaults didnt work (tried before my request). 2) My only one drive (SSD) is showing in INFO (BIOS) correctly. 3) And your comment about GPT vs. MBR is clever, but If you created USB stick via Media Creation Tool with whatever partition format GPT/MBR it doesnt affect reading USB in BIOS.

The problem appears up to installation with notification about not compatible format bootable media, that it doesnt support MBR.

Despite of result, thank you very much.😉
