My Acer Nitro 5 won't turn on. I cleaned out the fans because it was making some noise. Now it doesn't want to turn on. The exact model is AN515-54-55J7. The battery does charge. Could it be a non working keyboard so the power button doesnt work or could it be something else. I have experience working on different laptops and desktops just can't figure it out.

Hope you disconnected the battery before you cleaned the fans. Try the power drain procedure: unplug the adapter, open the back cover and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Now press the Power Button and keep the button pressed down for a full 2 minutes to drain any static charge that may be present. Wait a few minutes and check your DDR4 modules, release the DDR module clasp and reseat the modules firmly then lock the clasp again till you hear a loud click. close the back cover plug in the adapter and turn on your laptop, If you can boot, unplug, open the back again and connect the battery and try to boot now with battery only. If you cannot boot you have a bad battery. Plug in the power adapter, boot and create a Windows Battery Report. If the full Charge capacity is very low at 100% charged you need to replace it, if the battery won't charge, uninstall the Battery drivers with Device Manager (see picture) and reboot, if still no charging your battery has dead cells.

I did disconect the battery first thing when I opened up the laptop. Also before I started working on it I did the power drain procedure and waited for about 30 to 35 minutes. Now I tried the steps above and it still doesn't work. If I have the battery inside and I plug in the charging cable the charging light turns on amber. It just does nothing when I push the power button.

Now when looking at images online. I realised that the black plastic by the JKB1 connector is broken. So the cable easily slips out. Could this be an issue why the keyboard wouldn't work?

I figured out a way to secure the plastic and cable in place so now the computer turns on. So it was just a cable that wasnt correctly plugged in.
