Ram limitations for an Acer Aspire 5 (A514-52KG-34H4)

Hi, i'm looking to upgrade my laptop but sites are inconsistent if it can only support up to 12gb or to 20gb. I already know what the specifics are, just want to know if getting a 16gb ram stick is even supported by this specific model

Crucial says its compatible with 16gb (to a max of 20) but memorystock says it can only go to a max of 12gb (8gb ram)
I would also appreciate if i can know what ram brand this model has, thanks!

Some Aspire5 514-515 models have the 4GB DDR4 soldered on the motherboard (either 2666 or 3200 MHz) and those have only 1 free slot available for up to 16GB DDR4 (Total max. Ram 20GB). Other models (not very common) do not have a DDR4 soldered but have 2 slots one with an 8GB DR4 and the other slot empty for a 4GB or 8GB DDR4, those models have a max. RAM of only 16GB. The best way to find out how many DDR4 slots you have is to open your laptop and check. To find out what is soldered on the MOBO run WMIC in the Command Prompt opened as administrator: wmic memorychip list full

If you match the soldered 4GB DDR4 (copy the WMIC scan results) you will be running Dual Channel mode (is supported) with a clock speed of 2667 MHz that computes up to 30.0 GByte/sec. average speed (in my case) running W11 22H2.

Offically its up to 8Gb our of the service guide. 16 may work but its 50 50, so may be worth dropping into a computer shop see if they will let you try a 16GB dimm, its 2133mhz Jedec but no metion of the type of soldered ram

The A514-52 has 4GB onboard ram and can have a total of 12GB DDR4-2400Mhz ram.
