I’m currently experiencing an issue with my laptop not booting up. It’ll get pass the predator flash screen and sound clip then shut down. It’ll repeat this several times where sometimes it’ll sucessfully boot to windows login and sometimes it won’t. Oddly enough, pressing and holding the windows key after pressing the power button allows it to boot completely. After booting and I release the windows key I get an Acer Power option screen before the laptop promptly shuts down. I tried all of the above and to no avail. So after all of this I used the system image repair disc I made to reload Windows OS. After this everything worked fine for an entire week, no issues before the problem returned. I never turn my laptop off and it always has an internet connection so I can only assume some update took place (Acer related) thats causing this issue.

Check your power settings: Make sure your power settings are set to high performance and that your laptop is not in sleep mode. Check your power cord and battery status to ensure they are functioning properly.Reset your BIOS settings: You can try resetting your BIOS settings to default by entering the BIOS menu (usually by pressing F2 or Del during boot-up), and then locating the "Reset to Default" option.Perform a system restore: If your laptop was working fine before and suddenly stopped booting up correctly, try performing a system restore to a previous point in time when your laptop was working correctly.Reinstall Windows: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reinstall Windows on your laptop. This will erase all data on your laptop, so make sure to back up any important files before proceeding.

If you are not shutting down, try hibernating but you have to check hibernate in Power Plan otherwise the option won't show in the Start>Power menu. Hibernate is faster than Fast Startup. If you want to know if some apps were updated (Acer Care Center), open Event Viewer(local) and check the events in Information. Reliability Monitor also records Windows Defender updates.

Thanks for the suggestions but like I said before all of the above didn’t work.

Everything possible software/firmware wise was done to fix this. Now i have to assume it’s a hardware malfunction.

Thanks but nogo. Guess I have to look at this as a hardware problem.
