Changing power supply on orion 3000 P03-620

I want to change my power supply on my orion 3000 as it is bottlenecking my gpu. The current one I have is the 500w with rtx 3070 PO3-620.

Does anybody know if this power supply will be a good choice, and most importantly will it fit?

(I need a 1000w because I want to upgrade my gpu & cpu as well soon)

Also, I've heard that the power port on the motherboard is 6 pin instead of 24 pin, would an adapter like this work? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001843165218.html

Thanks!

Yes the RTX3070 needs a recommended 550W PSU and the PO3-620 came with a 500W PSU, your desktop has a special ATX1-6-Pin ATX power connector and an ATX2-4-Pin ATX power connector that power the mobo, the Seasonic PSU only has a 20+4pin MB connector, buy an adaptor that is a 20 Pin to 6 Pin Adapter Cable and use the Seasonic main 4pin and connect the 20pin to the new 20 to 6 pin adaptor, to the PO3-620 mobos 4pin ATX2-4-Pin ATX power connector to connect both ATX plugs, as that will work and you will be able to also power the RTX3070 from the Seasonic PSU PCI adaptors that are supplied with the PSU, don't increase the PSU too much, as a 650W SPU will be more than enough to power your desktop.

I used to have the same PC. I don't believe your 3070 is being held back by the PSU. By slow RAM speed and throttling CPU for sure, but not PSU. I gained some performance when I replaced the original cooler so that the CPU wasn't throttling anymore.

If you are planning on upgrading your PSU and later GPU, my suggestion would be to sell what you currently have and build a new system from scratch.

As you know, swapping PSUs isn't easy. And even the space for a GPU is pretty limited. Let's say you go for a 4080/90. You wouldn't be able to close the side panel because of the PCIe adapter you may have to use. That is, if the card even fits lengthwise.

If you managed to swap the PSU and new GPU inside this little box, now you would be held back by your CPU and slow RAM. :(
