so I was using my laptop then I plugged it in to charge and closed the lid (didn’t shut down) And when I went back to it later it won’t turn on. When I press power nothing happens. When I click other buttons it’s like as if it tries to come on but can’t. (Light comes on then turns off again). I’ve tried pressing the battery reset button and ) the man in the local shop had a look but says it’s for the bin but I’m hoping someone here could help me. It’s only 3 years old and I got a new screen for it a month ago.
thanks in advance any help would be greatly appreciated

What is the exact laptop model number? As there could be allot of things that are wrong with your laptop which the worst is a burned out vcore mosat and a burned-out CPU or even a GPU.

Try to do a Hard Reset First, open the back of the laptop, take the main battery out and disconnect the BIOS battery plug then use a paper clip to short the +&- pins out momentarily, take the ram out also, leave the laptop with all its components disconnected for 15min then reconnect all components (if you have 2x RAM modules only connect one) and see if the laptop resets? If it doesn’t then you could have burned circuitries in your power stages of the motherboard like a capacitor, resistor or at worst a burned out vcore mosat that has affected the CPU, which means that you need to replace the motherboard.

All this needs an experienced technician to analyze your laptop with special tools, as and if you already taken you laptop to a technician and he said “the man in the local shop had a look but says it’s for the bin” means that your CPU is burned out and the simplest fix is to buy a new motherboard. Tell us the exact laptop model that you have so that we can advise you the model of your motherboard that you can buy and get this laptop working again.
