I bought a new TV (samsung 55" QLED) and wanted to see some how the picture from my laptop worked and I have a beautiful picture but no sound. its the same result with different cables too. The way its set up is HDMI ACER out to Onkyo TX-NR676 HTR PC input and TV is connected via ARC. Just like the way it was with the old Samsung Plama we had. The cable is high speed for 4k HDR so I don' t think its the cable.

Help! I really want to view some stuff from the computer.

Thank you,

ME

    Hello!!

    @hikingfoole85

    right click on the speaker icon near clock and date, choose playback devices, click on HDMI and click on Configure, are you able to set 2.1?

     if not check on Intel VGA drivers options.

     i think that HDMI is streaming a pure 2.0 (stereo) audio so the subwoofer is not involved or you have to check some settings on your amplifier to activate subwoofer even without the sub channel streaming active.

     Please check if your Intel VGA driver is the latest available on Acer support website:

    Thanks for your attempts to help me LunaNova14 and egydiocoelho, but something is very wrong. After I updated ALL my drivers and tried to follow all troubleshooting tips I could find my computer does not recognize my GE Force sound/video card at all! At least before I could see it. I am going to take it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy or one of 2 or 3 computer repair shops in or near my town. Beautiful picture but no sound. The same thing is happening with my cable TV and Roku! The only thing that works is the new Smart TV, Onkyo receiver and my CD player and DVD player. I have video but no sound thru the computer, cable box and the ROKU player. All of my HDMI ports on the receiver are assigned correctly, I even tried assigning the computer to the auxillary hdmi port and tried thru the DVD HDMI slot to no avail. I am baffled.
