The computer is completely dead and I can't even get it to boot. Even while plugged in. I've tried the pushing the charger in more trick but it doesn't help.

Before anything, and if this laptop is under Acer warranty then don't do anything and send your Nitro to Acer Support. If its not then, try to first do a Hard Reset, take the main battery out, then disconnect the bios battery (get a paper clip and short the +/- pins afterwards) and then take the ram modules out, leave everything disconnected for 30min and then reconnect all components, with the ram and if you have 2x ram modules, only connect 1x module, if you only have 1x ram module try to connect another module (if you have one) if you don’t then use your oem ram module, but be aware that a faulty ram module does cause laptops not to boot.

If the above doesn’t reset the laptops Super IO and BIOS chips then you have a major problem in the power/charging stages of your laptop that needs an experienced technician to fix. Be aware that there is no easy you can fix this problem, as this problem is in the internal part of your laptop and has to do with a burend/shorted capacitor, mosat or resistor that is stopping your laptop from powering on and charging and turning on.

Is the (blue or orange) LED charge light at the side of your laptop on when you plug in the power adapter; you said “no longer charging”. If no LED lights at all; do you have a spare power adapter you can try or borrow one from someone with a Nitro 5 laptop? If not ask a technician to measure the voltage at the power plug of your power adapter with a DC volt or multi-meter (the label on your adapter shows the correct DC Voltage out). Maybe all you need is a replacement adapter for $50😉
