I have an Acer Nitro 5. I bought an LG slim Blu ray drive with Powerdvd 14. Over the past three years, I've had to dump the powerdvd program and reload it over three dozen times. It won't play dual layer discs. VLC will play them, but choppy. A lot of times the powerdvd program will get stuck during the load process on any type of disc and won't load the disc. Very frustration. At one point, neither powerdvd or vlc would recognize my blu ray drive until i dumped the powerdvd program and reloaded it. Has anyone else had this problem?

What is your Nitro 5 laptop model number also which LG Blu-ray slim model player/recorder do you have is it the” LG BP50NB40 Slim DVD/3D Blu-ray Disc Writer with M-DISC Support” or what? These are important information that you should tell us.

The problem is with your Blu-ray recorder/players or the Blu-ray disks that you are using, go to the LG site and get the software/firmware updates for your product and look at the manual for the suggested software and especially the DVD and Blu-ray type disks that you should use, as and if Cyberlink Powerdvd 14 (which is a basic and dedicated software for DVD/Bule-ray) does not work there must be something wrong with the LG DVD/Blu-ray not the software, as even VLC Player is distorted which means its your LG recorder/player that has problems.
