Hi,

I recently bought am Acer A315-58 laptop, which I use for all my day-to-day activities. There have been a few problems that have arisen when podcasting. I had none of these issues with my previous laptop.

The biggest problem is that the laptop can't hear loud sounds, like a clap. These sounds aren't picked up by my mic, they don't appear on my recording and anyone I'm Skyping with can't hear them either. I assume this is a setting somewhere in the laptop, but I can't find out how to turn it off.

The second issue is that my voice slips out of time. We record the podcast audios, sync the track with my co-host for editing but then my track falls out of time as we do the edit.

The final problem is that little bits of sound are cut out on the recording. There are a few brief gaps of silence.

I have no idea what's causing any of these problems. Any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated. I'm recording with Audacity if that helps.

Thanks

Open Control Panel. Search 'sound'. Click 'change soundcard settings' in left pane. Click 'recording' tab. Right click mic array properties. Click enhancements tab. Checkmark disable all sound effects.
