Acer AN-515-52 keeps crashing while playing games, however only in certain room?
Hi Everyone,
My son has a Acer AN-515-52 laptop. The laptop crashes and reboots after a few minutes everytime he plays a game. However, the interesting thing is that this only happens when the laptop is setup upstairs in our house. Last week he moved his setup down to the living room and the laptop does not crash during games.
How can I figure out what is wrong? Is there some type of log I can run? Maybe it is the power supply upstairs? I really have no clue.
Your help is appreciated.
Best regards,

Could be an overheating issue if that room is poorly ventilated and stuffy; keep the laptop raised above the table away from pillows and thick carpets to allow plenty of airflow under and around the laptop. Change the Power Plan from High Performance to Balanced and check if the fan(s) are dusty or very hot air is blowing from the vents.
You can open Security and Maintenance in Control panel and click on Maintenance>Reliability monitor
Check if you see red errors and open the problem Reports (at the bottom) to see what causes the crashing. Also check in Event Viewer what the Critical Errors say about unexpected shutdowns and hangs.

I understand you say "this only happens when the laptop is setup upstairs in our house. Last week he moved his setup down to the living room and the laptop does not crash during games."
If it happens only upstairs then it is not a issue with your computer. Check the wifi connection when you are using it from upstairs, check the power outlet upstairs. Try to use a different laptop upstairs to isolate the issue.
