I have an Aspire A717-71G-74LF laptop and I would like to upgrade it. My problem is that I cannot seem to find any official data on the type and maximum capacity of the compatible storages ( the SATA and and the M.2 ) and the RAM. Can anyone provide me with the documentation (there must be one somewhere) or at least some official information? Usually this is not a difficult thing to find, I am kind of baffled about its absence… Not to mention I would like to go up to the possible maximum, becouse I would need it.

Thank you in advance.

    Hello!!

    @zsuzsoca

    This series supports a maximum of 32GB of RAM (2 slots, 2x16GB each) So-DIMM DDR4 2133 / 2400Mhz

    Ideally, you should use memory banks of the same brand and frequency to avoid compatibility errors.

    Use CPU-z or HWInfo64 to make sure that the installed RAM is actually working at the 2666 frequency.
    This is because the information displayed may be wrong since the chipset limits the frequency.

    Your computer has DDR4 2133/2400 SODIMM memory interface design and it has 2 RAM slots. The maximum memory is up to 32GB. Laptop has SSD module - M.2 2280 for SSD (PCIe/SATA Co-lay).

    @Alejandro_AC That is perfect, thank you! 512 Gb SSD and 32 GB RAM will be enough for a while, the only question remains, wether it will work with a 2TB HDD, but I guess we will see…

    I don't know, it depends on the motherboard, I would have to try, in any case the important thing is to have a fast drive, storage is currently not a problem with external drives (USB or NAS) or the cloud.
    All the best.
