Acer Swift 3 laptop - screen keeps clicking and gap appears between it and the plastic casing

The plastic cover that holds the screen in on my Acer Swift 3 laptop keeps on clicking in and out of place and leaves a big gap between the screen and the laptop casing. I am worried that it is going to make the laptop stop working as I know there's fine little wires in there. Please help.

My laptop is less than a year old and this has been happening for 2 months now.

It looks like a hardware issue.

If your laptop is in warranty you can contact the warranty dept.     Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  click on "contact support".  Scroll down.  You can find the phone no to contact the warranty dept.

Your laptop is under warranty, don't do anything as its the surrounding bezel panel clips that are broken, the screen is secured by double sided tape so there is no danger of the eDP cable plug coming lose. Send your laptop to Acer as that should not be happening to a under warranty laptop.

The Swift screen bezel can come lose as its secured by clips

There are known issues with the hinge design of Acer’s low to mid-range Acer laptops, when the hinge gets dirt inside or is slightly bent (by dropping or flexing the laptop frame) the hinge mechanism becomes rigid and too much force is applied to the bottom corners when the lid is firmly opened at the top of the lid. The gap you mention is probably caused by the short metal hinge arm that is pushing the inside of the panel frame out. The clicking sound is caused by excessive friction of the hinge on the inside pin, oil or grease does not help. A permanent solution is to bring/send your laptop to Acer Services to replace the hinge and panel frame and that will take some time but your Swift3 should be still under warranty and that will be the right thing to do.
