Hello, bought a laptop Acer nitro 5 only with hdd, within a year it fell into disrepair, the computer turned on and immediately gave an error, bought a ssd Samsung 970 evo on m.2, inserted, installed the system, everything works to this day, but use the standard hdd at all impossible, even any program can not work on it. I bought another ssd on sata 3, to replace this hdd, but when physically replaced, turned on the computer, got the error no bootable device, went into the bios in the boot section is only Windows boot manager hdd (...), nothing else, can not change to ssd, as only one option available. The bios itself sees the ssd, please help.

You must install Windows 10 on one of the SSDs, probably the 2.5" SSD since the m.2 SSD probably has data on it.

Go to this link to make a bootable Windows 10 USB installation stick using the Microsoft USB media creation tool. Then insert the stick. Then turn the machine on and immediately tap the F12 key to boot from the installation stick. Follow directions to install Wn10 on the 2.5" SSD.

If the stick doesn't boot, then tap F2 on startup to enter the BIOS Menu. On the BIOS Main tab, enable the F12 boot option. Then press F10 to save setting and exit. Then shut the machine off. Then try tapping the F12 key again on startup to boot from the USB stick

Just in addition to the above and some info for you. What is the exact Nitro 5 model? As all Nitro 5 laptops have provisions for 1x M.2 SSD plus 1x 2.5” SATA 3 of either mechanical or SSD type drives (these are the older Nitro laptops) but the newer Nitro 5 laptop have provisions for 2x M.2 SSD drives and 1x SATA 3 drive, with the boot SSD #1 M.2 slot (which is on the right side M.2 SSD slot as you open the back cover) is a 1x M.2 SSD PCIe3x4 that runs at up to read/write PCIe3x4 speeds of 3500/MBs while the other M.2 slot on the left of the laptop as you open the back cover and its used a an M.2 slave slot, is a slower port as ans if you have both M.2 slots populated this second M.2 slot will operate at max read/write speeds of 2500MB/s, so be aware of that.

You must have the newer Nitro 5 laptop and their boot M.w drives don't just go missing, as your Nitro 5 has 2x M.2 SSD slots and 1x 2.5" SATA 3 drive provision, these laptops (as I’ve got a Nitro 5 AN515-56 that came with a boot M.2 drive of the WD530 type PCIe 3x4 but no SATA 3 drive) works perfectly, I upgraded ithis laptop to operate with 2x M.2 SSD drives, with the boot slot 1TB WD SN750 Black drive and I’ve also got in M.2 SSD slot #2 the Acer oem 512GB WD530 M.2 SSD drive and both work perfectly.

Install the oem Acer oem M.2 SSD drive into its boot slot #1 again and look in Disk Management and see if it appears there, as the No Bootable problem could be with a faulty OS like Win-11 installation on that drive, with its startup files, so check that also. As this Acer oem M.2 drive should work especially if it’s a new amd a hardly used M.2 drive. If it does not work, then your Nitro oem M.2 drive must be faulty and you should claim this under warranty if your laptop is still under warranty?

Let us know if the Disk Management method worked, as and if the M.2 drive appears in Disk Management with a red X then try to change it to a simple disk, then format the disk and then give the disk a drive letter as that should make the M.2 SSD be recognised and appear in File Manager as a D:\ drive.
