Good Afternoon, My A514-54's part number is NX.A23SG.00Q. I have been using this product for six months. My issue was with the battery where I have always been dislike to use battery for laptop devices. A pity that now, every of the laptops needs battery no matter what the brand unlike in year 2013 and earlier years where I could remove the battery and use the power adaptor plug only which is very convenient for me.

A sale person introduced this product to me where it has the Acer Care Centre that has the Battery Limit Charge fuction that allows me to stop the charge till at most to 79% to 80% so I can use it without worrying about the battery draining. That was the reason why I purchased this product.

So far when I was using it for three months, there wasn't any issue except there was an odd problem at times where sometimes, it would charge automatically on its own even though I have limit the battery charge. When this happen, I opened the Acer Care centre program to limit the charge back. I used this product until on the first week of February 2023, the battery status became 78% all of a sudden where usually it would be at most 80% to 79%. I opened the Acer Care centre program to let it charge till at 81% and I limit the battery charge again till it stayed 80% for like three days or so and it became 79%.

This has been going on until on the last final week of March 2023, I did not notice that the battery had became 78% at times at least twice as I was busying where it stayed at 78% for like four hours. Usually as I mentioned, I would open the Acer Care Centre program to use the limit charge function to re-charge it till at around 81%, then I would limit the charge back. However for this case, I did not as I have mentioned that I did not notice the battery status has became 78%. Suddenly like after some days or so, it charged on its own again even with the limit charge on the Acer Care Centre program was on which this has not happened on the entire February 2023.

In the begining week of this month, the battery status was in 80% for two days at most which it aumatically charged on its own and I lmit the charge by using the Acer Care centre program as usual. After two days, it became 79% for like about seven hours and suddenly, it became 78% straight which this has not happened before. So I opened the Acer Care Centre program to disable the limit charge and let it charged till at 81% as usual. I turned on the lmit charge and it became 80%.

After another two days, it became 79% for just like four hours and suddenly, the next day when I started to use the product for three hours, it became 78% already. I don't know why does this happen where the past few months, it was still okay.

Just like to give you some advice, I’ve never ever used a battery charge limit on any laptop and the batteries lasted at least 5 years or more some have lasted 7 years, without any problems. The Acer Care Centre battery charge limit is a software that fluctuates and the taskbar battery % status is not always accurate, so remember that, best way if you want accurate staus of your batteries health and charging status, is to do a Battery Report and do this:

    • Go to Search and type in cmd prompt > then right click the cmd icon and Run as administrator
    • Paste this command: powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html into Windows\System32>
    • Then go to C:\ drive and in the Microsoft Edge HTML Document section > you will have a battery_report link, click on that as the battery report will come up as a web page in MS Edge,

Have a look at the Battery Report as it consists of the following information of your battery:

    1. Installed batteries - information about each currently installed battery
    2. Recent usage - Power states over the last 3 days
    3. Battery usage - Battery drains over the last 3 days
    4. Usage history - History of system usage on AC and battery
    5. Battery capacity history - Charge capacity history of the system's batteries
    6. Battery life estimates - Battery life estimates based on observed drains

The above cmd prompt battery report is all the info that you need, as its a very comprehensive report of your battery status and its charge and health. Good luck and hope this helps you out and don't use the Battery Charge Limit😁

Btw, this Acer Care Centre Battery Charge Limit caption below of my Nitro AN515-56 shows 80% in that report but my battery in the Win-11 task bar, shows the battery at 100% charge, my Nitro AN515-56 has been continually plugged into the charger/adaptor for over 14 months and its still going strong and showing 100% capacity remaining and healthy, so that is how accurate these things are, see my PDF battery report as an example below

Disable Acer Care (I completely uninstalled it) and let Windows11 do your battery management, first drain your battery to 8-10% by unplugging the power adapter then charge to 100%, the battery is now "trained" and you should get valid readings in the Windows battery meter (task bar). To see how the charging is going and to check the wear of the battery create battery reports once a while, type/paste the following in the Command Prompt:

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

Open the file “battery_report.html” on your Desktop and check Full Charged Capacity and Designed Capacity.

Only do this if you really worry about excessive battery drainage. Don't use High Performance but Balanced Power plan and don't worry about charging the battery to 100% and leaving the power adapter plugged in at all times, Lithium Ion batteries are not affected by any of this: I know that the so called experts proclaim to keep these batteries charged between 80-40% to prolong lifespan but you want to replace your battery and charger after 5 years anyway and by charging between 100-10% that will get you there easily unless you let the battery drain to zero that will damage the cells and shorten the lifespan considerably😉

I am really sorry for the inconvenience..   Let us do the basic steps first..

Doing the power drain and bios defaults will really help.  Kindly follow the steps given below:

Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices or any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down.  On the bottom of the laptop, you can find a  pin hole. It is a tiny hole. You can a find a battery symbol indicator next to the hole. It is like a + and – sign symbol as though somebody is trying to shift the battery out. Insert the pin on to the hole for 30 seconds. Remove the pin. Flip the laptop. Connect the charger cable, turn on the computer.  Only on laptops where the battery is inbuilt you can find the battery reset hole on the back of laptop.

If you don’t find a pin hole on the back of laptop then you might be using removable battery. There is no need to unscrew anything to remove the battery.  Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices and any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down.  On the bottom of the laptop, please look at the top or bottom depending on the way you look at it. You can find a long door. It is a battery removable door.  Just below that you can find a latch.  If you move the latch you can remove the battery door. Once the battery is removed, flip the laptop. Open the top cover, press and hold the power button for 1 minute. Connect the battery back on the back of computer. Connect the charger cable back and then turn on the computer.

If you don’t see a reset pin hole on the back of laptop or if you are not able to remove the battery (if it is inbuilt) then please unplug all the cables and devices out of laptop.   Hold the power button for 1 minute.  After releasing the button you should wait a while before plugging in power. Just because the button has been pressed doesn’t bleed off all the residual electricity on the motherboard. Wait 15-30 minutes before plugging in power. Then once power is connected wait for a full battery indication before turning the system on. That allows the battery to fully reset it’s internal statistics.

Connect all the cables back and restart the computer.

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear.  Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

It might also be the issue with battery, charger or power outlet.   Try to use the charger in a different room on a different power outlet.  Try to bypass the surge protector and connect it directly to power outlet.    Try to use an alternative charger if possible.    Try to turn on the computer without the charger and check it  ( as long as the battery is not drained out )

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand Battery
right click on all the items below battery – uninstall
    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

Kindly follow the steps given below

Soit's likely the battery meter needs to be recalibrated. If your AcerCareCenter does not have the option to calibrate the battery meter, follow these directions

    1. With the laptop turned off, connect the AC adapter and wait for the battery charge LED to turn from solid orange to solid blue.
    2. Turn the machine back on.
    3. Disconnect the AC adapter.
    4. Use battery power until the battery-low warning appears.
    5. Reconnect the AC adapter and fully charge the battery again.
    6. Follow these steps again until the battery has been charged and discharged three times.
