Hi my aspire e start 2015/16 sadly has a problem with the battery ..its showing as 0% plugged in not charging….looked at the web which has suggested using a paper clip under the laptop to reset battery / holding power button down whilst un plugged for upto 60 seconds attempting battery driver update via device manager…but none of this has worked….Ive heard there is an acer power utlity which I have downloaded (but not yet unpacked…its in .zip format from Acer support site) wondering how this could help but if it doesnt as the battery is internal anyone ever taken there batterys out to replace….anything to watch for,,,,

    @welshaaspire2023 if the laptop's battery doesn't charge when it is off, you should replace the battery as one of the cells inside it was faulty leading to the whole pack cannot recharge.

    Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
    Thank you and have a nice day!

    To confirm if your battery is dead create a Battery Report in Windows, type/paste the following in Command Prompt:

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

    Open the "battery_report.html" file on your desktop (double click) and check the Full Charge Capacity and how that compares with Design Charge Capacity. If you get really low numbers or blanks you need to replace your battery ($20-30) make sure you get the same model, voltage and Watt as your original battery.

    Hello!!

    @welshaaspire2023

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.

    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

    Check this T/S and post the result.
