The case on my Aspire 5 is starting to separate in the lower left corner by the hinge

I've seen this design flaw come up on other Acer discussion boards. It will crack and cause the screen to crack soon if I don't fix it. Sounds like a design flaw that Acer knows about and should fix. It's past the warranty but still works great otherwise. Does anyone have a fix for this other than replacing the entire top half of the case and hinge?

Yes, I fixed that last year with simple superglue but the material is polycarbonate and there are much better adhesives (epoxy) for that, I pushed a small furniture wedge between the opening of the lid and hinge during the drying (waited 4-6 hours). I minimize now closing the lid and use the F1 (sleep) key instead. When I travel I avoid putting stress on the lid and close it with thumb and index fingers at the very bottom of the screen, same when opening the lid. Not ideal but this will do till my next higher end laptop next year with hopefully sturdier hinges😉
