No Bootable Drive keeps coming back on E 15 E5-573G

Hi all I got an Acer Aspire E 15 E5-573G-52G3 and it's got a No Bootable Drive error showing up. Used it last night with no issues and sat on my desk till now.

Reinstalling windows onto the drive is the only fix but like clockwork about 5-6 months later it happens again. This is the fourth time. Once the error showed up in the past but fixed itself somehow.

I reseated the drive and tried changing boot menu to legacy from UEFI and vice versa from researching online but didn't help. Only reinstalling windows. Thanks for any help

@Saddened55 try to unplug the primary and CMOS batteries, and wait for 5-10 min. If your drive is an HDD, it is likely failing. Replacing it with an SSD will resolve the issue and get a better loading time.

Thank you and have a nice day!

The only solution is to change the drive to a 2.5" SSD like a Samsung 870 EVO drive as they are the most reliable, as 99% of the time whenever you get No Bootable Drive its the mechanical HDD that is faulty and needs replacing, don't change any settings from UEFI to Legacy as it won’t do anything. Also check your SATA plug at your motherboard in your laptop if its not faulty or has any pins bent or have come lose and are not making 100% contact with the HDD.

If you have valuable data on your old drive then try to see if that drive will work by checking its SATA plug and see if the laptop will boot with this drive again and do a clone, if not then you will need to get a data recovery technician to get all the valuable data from that drive for you, as a damaged drive needs specialist tools to revive the drive and recover your valuable data.

Thanks, I did remove both batteries for 10+ minutes and that didn't fix it. I have an SSD in there for a few years now and The problem comes back for it every six or so months.

Thanks I do have an SSD. I thought it might be the SSD or the SATA cable from the motherboard but since it works for 5 or 6 months then goes bad I can't see how it could be the hardware. The problem happens when the laptop is just sitting on a desk not moving so the connection isn't changing from when it works to when it doesn't work. And I've put the drive into a USB enclosure and it works fine so again I think the drive is okay but some software problem occurs.

By what you have said its probably the laptops SATA plug and its circuitries that have been affected, don’t forget that this laptop is an old laptop that its motherboard has circuitries errors. You need to take your laptop to an experienced technician who can diagnose the SATA connection plug and its links and circuitries that are connected to this plug, as there are problems there, all this needs specialist tools as it could be the actual SATA plug at the motherboard as a disconnection of a hard drive should not be happening.
