Is the 5v current pins faulty on the 2.5” HDD or the laptop mobo? Also, how do you know that the 5V current is missing? As and if it’s the mobo then the SATA plug is faulty and needs to be replaced or its mobo connection trace is broken. This needs a technician to test this part of your laptop where the 2.5” SATA drive mobo plug is with a microscope as there a user like you can’t fix or do anything, unless you use an external USB drive as a boot drive, if you don’t want to fix or replace the mobo.
