Hi,

I bought a Swift X 16 (2021). I liked the laptop at first but it is terribly noisy at low load.
Why did Acer design the fan control software so that a fan is clearly audible when a browser, office suite is open?
Yes, I discovered the Fn+F shortcut and it still does not solve the problem.

I verified the temperatures and they are not high ~40 degrees celsius.
I have the impression that the fans start at these very 40 degrees in quiet mode. There are no settings in the bios to raise this limit. Overall the bios is very poor in options.

Is Acer planning to release a new version of the BIOS? I have searched the web for solutions and many users report this problem.
The maximum allowable temperature for the processor is 100 degrees. Why can't the quiet mode be raised to 50 degrees instead of 40? Or give users a choice.

The last question is typically to Community. Has anyone replaced the thermal conductive paste? What is the effect? I think it would be possible to bring the temperature down to about 36-38 degrees, but it's still close to that stupid limit of 40. Here, even 45 degrees would save the situation.

To sum up, what is ridiculous to me is that with a browser and an office suite running, I have to listen to the sound of fans instead of focusing on the text.

I still have 10 days to return the hardware. It would be nice if someone from Acer would give information if they are going to release a new bios version.
