How do I get my V287K monitor to display at 60Hz on my 13" Macbook Pro M1?

Do I need to use display port? With the HDMI cable that is included it requires no setup but defaults to 30Hz. Is there a way to update the monitor's firmware to HDMI 2.0? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Use DP cable with your Macbook Pro M1 that can output 60Hz, as your monitor comes with a HDMI 2.0 cable, as either an optional cable or you must have got this cable in the box at no cost, if the HDMI cable supplied by Acer didn’t work at 60Hz refresher rate, try a DP cable as it should work at 60Hz refresher rate with a DP cable as 60Hz and what the Macbook Pro M1 output resolutions are nothing that the Acer monitor can't handle.

The Acer V287K monitor supports all the resolutions that the Macbook Pro M1 can output at 60Hz refresher rates, the V287K monitor at max the Macs min but not at 1024x640, but not at the Macs min of XGA - 1024x768 60/70Hz. So make sure that you run your Macbook Pro M1 at max WSXGA+ - 1680x1050 at 60Hz or at WXGA+ - 1440x900 only.
