Aspire A515-56 11th Gen Intel, Core i7-1165G7, 16 GB, Device ID 3C24591C-D48E-435C-86f0-A7246560EC3,

Product ID 00342-21968-00711-AAOEM, 64 bit

I've had this laptop less than 2 years. If it is unplugged it randomly shuts completely down, despite the battery icon on the bottom stating full charge or mostly charged. When I plug it back in I have to boot it completely back up. I am frustrated. There are a lot of video “remedies” on the web, but none of them have worked for me. What started as a great laptop for my needs has become an annoyance when used portably (as it was designed). This has been going on for around 6 months. I need a fix, or a new computer.

    Hello!!

    @jsilvertop01

    (1) Unplug charger

    (2) Press and hold power button for about 10 seconds. No LEDs should be lit

    (3) Gently insert, press and hold a paperclip into battery reset hole on the bottom for about 60 seconds

    (4) Plug charger back in.

    (5) Wait until battery charge LED turns from blinking or steady orange to steady blue. This may take 8 hrs or more.

    (6) Only after battery charge LED turns steady blue, try to turn the laptop on again

    Create a battery report by pasting/typing the following in a Command Prompt (opened as Administrator):

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

    Open the file "battery_report.html" on your Desktop (double click)

    If the Fully Charged capacity is close to the Designed capacity bring your laptop to Acer Service for checking, if too low get a new battery ($50).
