What is your laptop model number, also use the NVidia driver that you are trying to install Advanced > Clean Install option to uninstall all previous drivers from your laptop first before you install this new driver, try that first and let us know how you go. if not then use the Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.6.1 software and follow its guide to completely uninstall previous drivers

I'm having the same problem with Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54.
Do the same with your AN515-54 as above, as the NVidia drivers work 100% and not the Nvidia drivers, its your laptop and its corrupt drivers, you need to completely uninstall all NVidia drivers and then install the new driver and also have windows up to date and the Intel drivers up to date and install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and do a scan and install all the Intel drivers (especially the graphics drivers) that are not up to date.
This One is Also amazing, your's is quite Facinatinf but this Article has more things then this one Visit this Page for more information on this. I think this will Change your Mind.
