Hello,

my acer is quite old and with small in the hard disk (almost 6 years, 32gb total) and is running out of space.

What do you suggest to free up some of it?

I've already blocked the windows updates for now.

Thanks,

OK, your SF114-31 only supports the single eMMC drive that's soldered to the motherboard, so you don't have the option of upgrading to a larger drive. You will likely find it best to uninstall as many apps as you aren't using often to free up space, as well as using the Disk Cleanup app to clear things out as often as possible. As you have found apps and system don't go out to the SD card, though you can change your documents, pictures, videos and other data to use the SD. Other than that, the next best step is a newer machine, that is expandable… They had design limitations with yours in order to keep the price low, and you are feeling the results of that now.

Run Disk Cleanup in Windows and have it clean up system files. That often gets things back to a reasonable level. We need to know the rest fo the model number, SF114-3 could be any of several different models. Yoru full mmodel number is on the same sticker as your serial number and looks like SF114-34xx-xxxx. Depending on which one you have it might or might not have the capability to add another drive. If not you can install a SD card and offload your data files to that.

    Thanks, it is a SF114-31-C3KD.

I added an SD card. The point is that I don't have any files on this laptop, and this shortage is just due to programs.
