I cannot for the life of me find a proper solution/answer to see what the exact problem is with my 2 USB ports! They both stopped working(3.0 and back end) and I have tried almost everything I could find online. I need to know if it is something to download/reboot to older version or if they are fried and need to be replaced. Any help would be great thank you!!!!

Which V5 laptop model do you have, and are any of the USBs damaged inside, as that could have a bearing on why they don't work, if you did all the driver uninstall and reinstall then its an internal connection problem of the porsts. Try this as a last resort:
Step 1: - Go to search box next to Windows icon and type CMD
Step 2: - Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator
Step 3: - Type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic and press enter.
Step 4: - Click Next on the Hardware troubleshooter wizard.
    Step 5: - Restart PC

Did you upgrade from W8 to Windows10 and are you still getting and installing the monthly W10 updates (click on check for updates). If the USB issue happened recently I recommend that you roll back your system to an earlier point (before the USB ports failed). Type “Create a Restore Point” in the Search box and select "System Restore" and a date at the top of that window. Alternatively RESET your system but you may lose all your data. Windows 8.1 support ended on January 10, 2023 so although it will run OK I don't recommend using Windows 8.1 for security reasons.
