I own an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-53E5 laptop, I want to add more storage. How do I do this?

Also, what brand of storage do you recommend?

The AN515-55 has 2x M.2 slots at PCIe 3 x4 and 1x SATA-3 6GB/s space for a 2.5"drive. The Acer fitted M.2 SSD drive is a PCIe 3 x4 of the likes of either a WD or a Hynix 512GB SN530 boot drive, I’ve got an AN515-56 that is virtually the same laptop specs and what I did to increase storage is this:

    1. Upgraded to a 1TB WD SN750 Black (this also comes in 2TB) PCIe 3 x4 M.2 boot drive that I cloned everything from the existing 512GB WD SN530 M.2 SSD boot drive onto the 1TB WD SN750 Black M.2 SSD drive with the Acronis True Image for WD drives. Always clone the new drive with its suggested cloning software also.
    2. Then used the 512GB WD SN530 old boot drive as a slave secondary M.2 drive formatted to GUID (GPT)
    3. You can also use the 2.5' SATA-3 additional drive space as an option and fit either a mechanical or an SSD drive into that space of capacities from 500GB to 8TB

There are are allot of capacity options for the AN515-55 as the above is all that you have to do, remember that the M.2 slots are 5x faster than the SATA-3 slot drives. M.2 PCIe 3 x4 run at 3500MB/s read/write max and the SATA-3 6Gb/s SSDs run at 750MB/s read/write max.
