How to reset W510 witout external DVD drive? With USB? I deleted the Acer softwares

Hey guys,

I want to reset my tablet since my mother uses it more than I do, and I want to change the account to hers.

I know I can just delete my account and switch it with hers, but I want to factory reset everything so it'll feel new.

Now when I bought the tablet, I deleted all the Acer softwares immediately. Im not sure if that includes the Acer Recovery Management. But apparently, when I use search, I can't find that program (perhaps I deleted it?).

I spoke with tech support on Acer's site and they told me I need to get an external drive so I can use the Recovery DVD.

Is there a way I can reset without having to spend money? I have a desktop PC at home... umm can I somewhat connect my tablet to it and use the DVD on the computer and somehow get it to run on the tablet?

I have a flash drive as well... can I use that somehow?

Thanks guys!

    Hi there,

if you have Windows 8 with was installed by Acer there is still hope to restore system =]

way 1 - if windows will be not able to boot 3 times ( power on tablet and right after Acer logo when Windows will booting hold power button to shutdown) recovery console should boot and then you will be able to choose full restore or only system restore.

way 2 - is system still alive, slide from right side and go to Change PC settings, then General and on the bottom you will see Restor option

and last way 3 - if all was removed you are doom ... only exteran DVD with backup disc.

hello, thanks for the reply! ????

i have tried option 2, but it says that i am missing some files and must use a recovery disc to get them.

is there a way i can corrupt my tablet to force option 1?
