My Aspire 3 I3 10th generation is performing poorly, running programs takes forever. I'm definitely selling and never purchasing an Acer.

    Hi @MrLembede Please comment the exact model of the laptop and the version of the operating system.
    What apps have you installed?
    Any security application (antivirus)?
    Thanks.

    Thank you for providing the model, I have seen that this model has various hardware configurations, sorry for asking another question again, is the processor an Intel i3 and it has 4GB of memory or is the processor different and has more memory?
    Thank you so much.

    Yes it's an Intel i3 and has 4G memory

    Unfortunately 4GB of memory doesn't allow for higher performance, the processor doesn't help either, although an i3 would suffice for use of the notebook with undemanding applications.

    Hi @MrLembede

    If you check Device Manager-Performance tab (in Start) you will find that your RAM is 95%+ this causes your slow response and hangs. Windows 11 needs 8GB DDR4, Type this command in the Command Prompt (opened as Administrator);

    wmic MemoryChip get Banklabel, Capacity, Configuredclockspeed, Devicelocator, FormFactor, Manufacturer, Serialnumber, Speed

    And buy exactly the same DDR4 listed, same speed and capacity, brand does not matter but better get the same brand too. This will double your present speed (Dual Channel) and capacity.😀

    Just in addition to the above, the Aspire 3 A315-54 (which I think is the laptop model that you have?) as you haven’t told us the exact model that you have, with the i3-10110U cpu is an adequate mid-range cpu (its frequencies are at 2.1GHz normal to 4.1GHz turbo at 2 core & 4 threads and 4MB cache) and this laptop should perform and handle Win-10 and Win-11 perfectly, you mustn’t have this laptop setup properly and that is why the performance is so slow!

    The Aspire 3 specs with the i3-10110U and its Intel® UHD Graphics for 10th Gen/4GB or 8GB on board soldered ram that can be upgraded to a max of 20GB DDR4 which will also help in this laptops performance) as the oem laptop comes with a total of 8GB ram/and its 256GB M.2 SSD is a mid to low range laptop and should work well.

    You need to have your windows OS up to date and you need to have all the Intel drivers up to date (install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant as that will assist you in getting all the appropriate Intel drivers like chipset, graphics, Wi-Fi, bluetooth etc.,and also update the bios (which there are 7 updates from this laptops oem bios) up to date and to Version:1.11 for this laptop to perform to its peak performance. Do all this properly and then you will get the full 100% performance and functionality out of your Aspire 3 A315-54 laptop and please don't blame Acer 😁
