Also consider installing a much cooler Sata drive (battery consumption of a SATA SSD is less):
Samsung has a new V-NAND 2.5" Sata drive (950 EVO) for $ 95, not yet tested by Acer with Aspire 5 but reported to work with Aspire 3 on elevenforum.
Correction: That should read Samsung EVO 850 2.5" SATA SSD, the 950 is a NVMe PCIe SSD.
