Hi, I'm having a problem with my AN515-58-78A6 laptop when using an external monitor connected to the HDMI port while the laptop's lid is closed. When I restart my laptop, my extended monitor goes black (or turns off? not sure), and the laptop now detects that the lid is open, causing the display to switch into two extended displays even though the lid is still closed. It cannot read or detect that the laptop's lid is closed after a restart. It's troublesome for me to constantly open and close the lid just to return to the previous display configuration. I already installed the latest chipset, but it is still happening. Any Ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Open Control Panel. Search ‘button’ Click ‘change what the power buttons do’ in left pane. Select ‘do nothing" when I close the lid. Then click ’change settings that are currently unavailable' near top of screen. Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup. Save changes and exit. Setup external monitor so it's not in extended mode with lid closed. Then try to re-start or shutdown to see if it retains the non-extended mode with lid closed on startup.
