Hi, i want to upgrade my laptop's RAM and SSD by sending it to the same shop where i bought it.

1) Are they capable of accessing my data without knowing my password?
2) If so, were there any case where technicians steals data from their customers?
3) Is there anyway to prevent them to access my data and put something suspicious in it?
4) Should i instead just buy the necessary hardwares and installed it myslef? I'm a newbie tho.

I don't put vital personal informatio in my laptop but i just don't like it when people tyring to take a peek at my personal files.

    Hi @Carsise

1.They cannot access the system without knowing your password unless you have automatic login, however, in most cases it is necessary for them to be able to access the system to verify the changes they can make.

2.It is difficult for this to happen in technical services authorized by the brands, they have a prestige and privacy guarantees endorsed by the manufacturer. In any case, no sensitive information should be kept on any device such as laptops, desktops, tablets or mobile phones, save it on an external medium or in a paper notebook.

3.The only way to avoid it is to either delete said information and save it on an external medium or create an encrypted access folder.

    Greetings.
