Try pressing FN+F6 to turn the screen back on.

Hi JackE, thanks for the suggestion. However, FN + F6 didn't work.

Just my suggestion as I've had this problem allot of times with mine and other laptops that I’ve fixed, and this is how I fixed this problem (but I've got experience and all the right tools in how to fix this, so don't attempt this yourself as you will damage your laptop)!

This is a common problem with a laptops that has been left to overheat and its left untreated and not cleaned and pasted with new paste or it just happens unfortunately. These symptom are at worst because of a gpu issue or an eDP cable or a screen or ram issues or a super IO frozen issue.

Do a hard reset by taking the main battery out and disconnect the bios battery and take the ram out, leave all components disconnected for 15min reconnect all (if you have 2x ram modules use just one to reboot the laptop) and then reboot the laptop, see if that fixes the issue.

If it doesn’t then it could be the gpu due to it overheating over time or its solder connecting pins that have come lose from their connecting pins, and its solder gets old and deteriorates and its many contact pins don’t make full contact with the mobo, which needs refloating and the underneath of the gpu filled with liquid AMTECH NC-559-V2-TF Flux and then heated with a 500c heat gun, don’t do it yourself as this needs an experienced tech to do properly and has has all the right tools, otherwise and after a refloat and if the graphics don’t come on then its either the gpu is blown or it’s a ram or screen eDP faulty cable at its mobo and screen plug ends that have burned out its pins or the screen itself that is faulty which is the last thing that you should be looking at.

Does HDMI out to a TV screen work? Press FN+F5 to turn TV screen on.
