Aspire A5142-52 - 1 or 2 beeps every 5 mins following bootup, what does this mean?

I've an Aspire 5 laptop, it's abou 2 1/2 years old. I only use it for university work and the occasional dabble in minecraft. Today it randomly decided to beep. Originally it was 1 beep, pause then 2 other short beeps. I've ran diagnostics on memory and the battery which all seem to be OK. I then had it on without the charger plugged in which seems fine but when I plug it back in the short beeps start either 1 or 2 short beeps approx every 5 mins. - Saying that as I've typed this it now hasn't beeped (charger in).

I'm really rusty on Hardware and diagnostics so any help/advice appreciated.

If it doesn't beep unplugged, then power is being interrupted when it is plugged in.
