aspire z5610 touching itself?

Been getting this problem on and off since I bought this computer, but it seems to be getting a lot worse lately.

I will be working as usual, and then the cursor will start randomly clicking itself, often in places I dont want it clicking, like closing the window I am working on, and just generally making work impossible.

I have looked all over for a solution, but the problem seems to be so obscure I just arent finding it anywhere.

Can anyone help?

    More information:

Are you using a wireless mouse like the one on my All-In-One?  I found that it had no clue when the battery was dying and started having wierd behavior, especially "lock up" on reboot issues.  If you are using the touch screen only, I can't be much help except to say that you might try installing a wireless mouse using the tiny USB powered adapter which can be purchased with some of these devices.

If your touch screen has a place where the sensing layer has been damaged, you may need to have it professionally replaced.  I'm not sure if anyone is doing that kind of services on the Acer-All-In-One line though.  I could not even get them to provide documentation on how to open the case on mine.

    Hi there,

I have a new Aspire V3-571 and it's doing the same thing.  If the curser hovers over anything for a few seconds the screen starts to flicker, text gets highlighted, and an e-mail will even be sent on its own before I click SEND.  Really annoying.  Windows 8 and I'm using a wireless mouse.  One post suggested using a different USB port and that seemed to work for a week but it's back.  HELP!!

No wireless mouse, got rid of the one that came with it fairly quickly, as there was always a delay in me moving the mouse, and the cursor moving on screen.

    Have a wired logitech mouse.

    Also have a wired keyboard.

I have seen similar issues solved by adjusting the sensitivity on the touch-screen settings. (Make them less sensitive)
