Acer Aspire ES1-531 stopped charging and now won't turn on

I left my laptop plugged in on standby overnight, and in the morning it wouldn't charge anymore. The charging light wouldn't turn on either. Then, a few hours later, it started shutting down randomly even though it still had some charge left. Now it is completely out of charge and won't respond at all. I've tried replacing the battery but it still isn't responding to anything. What do I do?

Make sure the charger is not connect and make sure the laptop is turned off. Check the back of the laptop you can find a “battery reset pinhole”.

Get the sim ejector and put that in the pin hole and press and hold it for 30 seconds.

Than try to turn on if it does not work than connect the charger and check whether its charging. Look at the picture below

Those symptoms that you are getting is due to a battery problem that needs replacing, try to firt do a Hard Reset by taking the battery out and then unplugging the bios battery and take the ram out, leave all components disconnected for 15min and reconect everything and reboot the laptop, if you are still getting those problems relace the battery as that should fix the problem, if not then there are other internal issues that you need to take your laptop to a tech that has all the tools to diagnoise the laptop as it could be internal power/charging circutries, a screen issue or other issues that cause these sorts of problems.

I solved the problem by the way - my charger was faulty. I replaced that and the laptop worked just fine.
