Aspire 7741z-4433 What is the extra Mini PCIe or M.2 slot-far right side looking in the rear access panel.

Looks like a M.2 slot or Mini PCIe.. Can it be used for an M.2 SATA SSD? or is that an un populatable part.

If it can be used what can it do specs please never seen anything about this in any manual or specs.

It has a Mini M.2 Wifi card in the one just above the hard drive bay.

The Aspire 7741z PCIe 3 x2 is NOT can't be used as an M.2 2280mm SATA SSD drive. this slot is a PCIe 3 x2 slot for the Intel Optane Memory Series 16GB PCIe NVMe M.2 80mm RAM type cards, with interface PCIe 3.0 x2, NVMe M.2 80mm card only - that has a read of 900 MB/s and a write of 145 MB/s. The wireless card is either a Wi-Fi or a combo Wi-Fi-BT card that the slot is of a Mini Bluetooth type and of course the SATA-3 is for a 2.5"mechanical HDD or an SSD drive used for the boot drive and storage of this laptop.

The comment by StevenGen is misleading.

To clarify, the second slot (MINI2) is a mPCIe slot and will not accept M.2 card and certainly not an Optane M.2 80mm.
