I also wanted to know if the max size is 1Tb for example, is it possible to have two 1Tb SDD or the the conjunction of the two must add to 1TB

I have a Predator Helios 300 model PH315-52-53XT

SNID: xxxx

Thank you in advance!

    Three scenarios:

    1. So as per your laptop model you have two M.2 slots and one HDD slot. So you can put 1TB NVMe SSD in each M.2 slots and another 2TB SSD/HDD in that 2.5 inch HDD slot. You can have total of 4TB storage (officially).
    2. However, you can also install max storage of 8TB: One 4TB SDD in 2.5 inch slot and two 2TB NVMe SSD in each of M.2 slots. Your laptop supports 2TB NVMe SSD in one slot each. Its not about support but about the size of SSD. Most of 2TB nvme ssds have chips on both sides so it is thicker than 1TB ssds. If your laptop has enough space in M.2 slot than you can easily install it.
    3. Incase your laptop doesn't have space to accomodate thick 2TB nvme ssds. Then go for 2TB DRAM-less nvme ssds like WD_SN570. This is thinner than most 2TB models as this one doesn't use DRAM so all its 2TB chip is just on one side like a 1TB ssd. 2TB WD_SN570 has same thickness of a 1TB nvme ssd. So it will fit easily.

So I have 2 2tb M.2 SSD's and a 4tb 2.5 SSD. According to this forum I'm "maxed out" for storage. My question is, what would happen if I tried to put a 4tb M.2 in this laptop?

  • That it does not recognize the disk or that if it does, it does not recognize the full capacity.
    All the best.
