    Which bios version have you got running on the R7-572, as you should be running the last bios/vbios update version 2.04 titled "1.Add NVIDIA GTX850M VBIOS. 2. Revise system can't boot when "Exit Discarding Changes" dated 2014/04/17. Can you boot into the Win-10 OS or is it bricked?

    As just “exited BIOS discarding changes” should not change any bios settings to what you had before when your bios and laptop was working properly. Do a hard reset, take the main battery, bios battery and ram out, leave them disconnected for about 15min and reconnect everything then reboot, be patient as the laptop will take about 1-2min to boot until it resets everything, as this will reset the startup Super IO chip and bios chip and should bring your laptop back.to oem settings and it will boot into the OS, if not then you have a corrupted bios that the bios chip needs reprograming or changing.

    It's the latest BIOS (2.04). Updated it when in came out early 2014 if I recall. Just few months after buying the machine. Still have the BIOS download in my backup files.

    I'll give your disconnect everything … and be patient. Thanks for your quick reply. Hope it's fuirtfull.

    No joy.

    Disconnected main battery.
    Removed RAM.
    Removed HDD.
    Removed WiFi module.
    Disconnected BIOS battery.

    Let it sit for more than an hour (about 70 minutes).

    Connected BIOS battery.
    Installed RAM.
    Connected main battery.
    Installed HDD.
    Left WiFi module out.

    Plugged in power.
    Turn on and let it sit for 10 minutes.
    Power and run LED on and fan runs (low speed). Nothing else.

    Hi @NOYB

    Possibly a HDD malfunction after 9 years. Also the boot sector on your HDD may be corrupted. If you still can boot to the BIOS screen (F2) try to reset your system with the USB recovery drive,(Advanced menu Windows RE) , if you don't have a USB recovery drive borrow one from a friend who runs the same Windows version that you have (W7?). A new mechanical HDD, 1TB costs less than $30 these days. You can copy your personal files to another PC by taking out your HDD and mounting it in an external USB.2 HDD case ($5), then you can also test the external HDD on that PC with HWINFO or some other free HDD test app.

    The HDD is fine. But regardles the isssue is before even getting that far to access the HDD. As mentioned previously. “Power and run LED on and fan runs (low speed). Nothing else.” As in no display, etc. Can't get into BIOS (F2).

    Hi @NOYB

    If you want to reply to my message, please use the "Quote" at the bottom of messages or type: @Puraw at the top of your reply otherwise I won't see it.😉

    Your mechanical HDD is suspect as that is the first component in a 9 year old laptop to fail (maximum lifespan for a 2.5” HDD is 10 years, with limited usage, average 5-7 years when used intensively. Take your HDD out and install it in an external USB case, then connect the external USB case to another PC to test your HDD with HWINFO.

    @Puraw

    The HDD is fine as previously stated. Already been tested and used to retrieve needed data. BIOS should be accessible even without an HDD.

    Correct, you should still get to BIOS but just copying data from a bad HDD says nothing about its condition.

    @Puraw

    Condition of HDD is of no concern when can't get to BIOS. Please stop with the HDD. It just adds clutter to the thread.
