New to PC building and have a question about upgrading the ram in my Predator Orion 5000 (PO5-610)

Hello all! I have owned my PO5-610 for around 4 years now and am looking to do some upgrading to the computer (desktop btw for all taht dont know it). This is the first time I am looking to upgrade my computer (besides adding storage but that was a while ago and i had help with that).

I need to upgrade my ram as i currently have 16Gb and it is hitting 98% while gaming with an idle of 41%-43%. Im looking to boost the ram up to 64gb (the max i read that this computer could handle) using 4x 16gb ram sticks. In that link it says “To ensure data integrity, use only Acer-approved DDR4 2400 MHz or DDR4 2666 MHZ type memory modules.” As you can see it specifies 2400 MHz and 2666 MHz but does not say anything about 3200 MHz. I went to the crucial website any types in my pc build and it showed me compatible ram. The Crucial 32Gb Kit (2x 16Gb) DDR4-3200 UDIMM popped up as one of the compatible options. https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4dfra32a/ct18671448 My question is should I go with the 3200MHz because crucial is saying its compatible or should i only but 2666MHz because that is what the manual is saying. My thoughts are maybe the manual is outdated and 3200MHz was not an option back then but again im new to computer parts so im not too sure.

I would download the Crucial software and do the Crucial Scan for your desktop, as their scan and max total recommendations for suitable ram is guaranteed to work, with the 64GB max total as Crucial suggests for your PO5-610, Crucial don't have a 4x 16GB Kit of ram modules that is why they suggest 2x 32GB modules for allot of the more modern Predator desktops, or and like for your PO5-610 desktop they suggest the Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 UDIMM at • CL=22 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.2V • 2Rx8/1Rx8 • PC4-25600 specs, which should be inserted into ram modules DIMM #3 and DIMM #4, as I can’t see putting another 32GB Kit at 2x 16GB DDR4-3200MGHz into DIMM #1 and DIMM #2 will not work.

Acer listed memory specs for the PO5-610 are old as Crucial makes memory modules and they fully guarantee their suggested ram specs and max total ram for your desktop. I can’t see any problems to put 4x 16GB DDR4-3200MHz ram mdules into DIMMs #1 to 4 into your desktop.

Btw, I've tasken the Crucial advice for more ram total and it worked 100% with their specified ram modules.

You have to do 4x16GB to get the full 64GB of memory, your sockets don't support 32GB modules. You can use 3200 modules, but they will run at the 2666 your chipset supports, so don't pay extra for anything faster than 2666. Your motherboard doesn't support ECC mode, so stay away from server memory.

Also found a comparison of them on B&H but its not showing the DIMM type for the 3200. Also the 2666 is the only one with ECC which may prevent errors and crashes?

Also, do i have to do 4x 16gb or can I just do 2x 32Gb and then later when i upgrade my motherboard I can upgrade by just adding another 2x 32Gb instead of having to overhaul everything

and you think i would be better with 3200 without ECC instead of 2666 with EC?

4x 16GB like Acer lists and DDR4-3200MHz will work.
