Android apps now hanging on my two-year -old Acer Chromebook Spin 713

I have a Chromebook Spin 713, purchased in February 2021. In the past few days, when I try to launch Android apps that I have used happily for two years, the apps hang and the Chromebook won't load any of them, including Google Play Store. All's I see is the outline of the app window, which is about the size of a phone screen, the word “Starting (name of the app)” and the circle moving endlessly clockwise. Very odd. Any fixes available?

Shut laptop off. Unplug charger. Long press and hold power button for about 30 seconds. Plug charger back in. Wait till battery LED indicator is steady blue. Then short press power button to turn it back on. Try apps again.

Jack, that didn't seem to work. What is that actually, a hard reset?

Yes. Turn your both your laptop and router off. Wait a few minutes. Then turn the router on first. Wait a few minutes more. Then turn the laptop back on. Try it again.
