My internal noise sounds like it's coming from a fan under the number pad. It's gone after roughly 10 minutes. It seems to me it could be cold and is having trouble starting up and eventually warming itself.

    Acer 5 A515-54 Model N18Q13.

Could it be the fan? The grinding noise sounds like more than the fan.

    Thanks,

The fan motor for your model is under the slotted grill of the back cover (you can see the fan) not below the keyboard, that is your HDD if you have a mechanical Sata HDD, if your HDD makes that noise you need a new one, if it is the fan motor, open the back cover, remove the battery cable connector with your finger nails at the motherboard (lift up the magic tape) and remove the fan cable and fan. Clean the heatsink dust trap thoroughly and clean the impellers of the fan also with a small brush. If after you put back the fan and connect the battery again you still hear fan noise, the fan motor bearing is gone, and you need to buy a new fan motor ($15).
