Hi All, I have an Acer Spin 1 SP114-31 that will not boot or charge.

When I press the on button the lights on the side do not come on, the same thing happens when I plug the charger in. There are no lights at all.

I have tried pressing the reset battery button and holding it down for 30 seconds.

I have tried disconnecting the battery to see if it will boot from the charger.

I have also disconnected the cmos and plugging it back in to see if that will resolve it.

Please can someone assist as I have no idea what else to try.

  • Is this computer under warranty? It is very likely that it is a problem in the electrical circuits.

So on your system the power jack is soldered to the motherboard, so it's unlikely to have pulled loose. Are you sure the power supply is working? Do you have another you can test with? The power button, and the indicator lights, are both on a daughter card that has a ribbon cable between it and the motherboard, so you might have an issue with that cable or the board. Has it ever been open?
