No USB 3.0/3.1 on Nitro 5 AN515-54 USA version

I noticed while my phone was plugged in via usb (any of them) it says in windows that my device would be faster if plugged into USB 3.0. THATS WEIRD because I thought I have two USB 3.0 in the left and a USB 2.0 on the right. I looked up the drivers and I cannot find them in the Acer support driver catalog

The AN515-54 has 3.0 USBs and they are the following USBs:

    Left side.

    • 1x USB 3.1 Type-C Port - Connects to USB devices with a USB Type-C connector. • Support USB 3.1 Gen 1 with transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps. • Delivers up to 3A at 5V DC for USB charging. • No support display out.
    • 2x USB 3.0 Ports - Connects to USB 3.0 Super Speed (USB) device. Also charges devices when the computer is off - NOTE: Devices without USB 3.0 certification may not be compatible.

    Right Side

    • 1x USB 2.0 Ports - Connects to USB 2.0 devices.

Yes thanks for verifying the specs, but my usb drivers need updated or something because its not registering as a 3.0. I dont see any drivers for USB on the Acer website.

The long-short of it is, Im trying to install a different OS on my phone and my laptops USB drivers are not working correctly

I've got an AN515-56 and I've got an old Samsung S8 phone (and use a new S22 ultra) and they both connect perfectly with USB and USB-C to my laptop without any new drivers as its all included in Win-11 and installs automatically.

The problem is with your phone and cord and their USB drivers that are missing, the only way that you can update the USB drivers on a laptop is through Device Manager and if that hasn't got any new drivers or updates for your phone, then you are stuck.

If its a Samsung phone then use one of their special USB drivers that they have for phones, go to your phones Samsung site and get the USB driver from there, don't know about iPhone(s) as I never ever used them, so those are your options its not your laptop or desktop.

update your phone to the latest version/patch

update your laptop using Windows update and download all available drivers, also the optional updates in advance options

try other usb cables or use the original cable that comes with phone

i found out that my pre packaged usb cable is only like 480mbs :/ so that solves my usb 3.0 not being utilized issue.

is upgrading to window 11 worth it?

and my phone is a pixel 6, i just got it and updated it so not being active in fastboot is killing me here

whatever happened to the good old days where you download the driver files and drop them into folders deep in your system files lol
