My Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L dead out of nowhere

I have read countless threads with consumers have the same issues I have with my Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L. My laptop was working great. Then the next time I went to boot it up - Nothing. No lights, No screen. Nothing. This coincidentally happened right after my warranty was up. Acer wanted to charge me to "diagnose" my laptop. I couldn't give this company more money for them to tell me that their hardware failed. With so many having the same issues with this exact model shouldnt Acer offer some type of repair at no cost. Or do they expect customers to pretty much pay for the same laptop twice after the fees of diagnosing and repair? This is bad business. I cannot recommend Acer products to anyone knowing that they do not stand behind their products and take responsibility for hardware. Sadly this is my first and last time purchasing Acer.

    Hi @Chrisb3981

You may have a static electricity issue on your mother board, happens from time to time with any brand laptop. Plug in your adapter and try again to press the power key, if no luck pull out the adapter plug but leave the adapter power cord connected to the wall socket, wait a minute plug in the adapter again and press the power key for a few seconds. If still nothing happens you may have a battery issue (with the fast charging technology these days this happens). Disconnect the adapter again, open the back of your laptop and disconnect the ribbon cable of the battery to the motherboard at the motherboard side (use your finger nails) the connector may be hidden by magic tape on the motherboard that you have to peel up. Put the laptop cover back without the screws, connect the adapter and try to power up without battery (press the power button a few seconds). If the system boots OK you need to buy a new battery ($50) make sure you order the model recommended/tested by Acer with the correct Acer part number. If still no luck, try plug and unplug the adapter to the laptop and change wall outlet. If still no results bring your laptop to an Acer Service station as your laptop may have a power supply or other hardware problem like a bad or lose DDR4 ram module, if you have a replaceable DDR4 slot, or a broken power key.
