Specs:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU

RAM: 16GB 3200Mhz RAM

BIOS: Insyde Corp. V1.08 7/21/2021

This happened just 4 days ago, and I have no idea how it started. I just booted up my unit one morning and I noticed that it was loading way slower than usual. All I saw was just the power indicator was on but there was no light on my monitor. So, I thought I would just force shut it down with the power button since it was already past 7-8 minutes that I waited for it to boot up. Then I boot it up again, I noticed my second monitor wasn't powering on. So, I got a little worried and restarted my unit again, thinking to myself that maybe it'll be solved with just a restart again, but it wasn't. I checked my driver on the device manager, and it said there that it wasn't responding with an error code 43. the GPU wasn't showing up on Task Manager too.

I tried completely uninstalling the driver for the GPU and restarting the unit again to check if it would reinstall the driver. It did, so I assumed it would work, but Task Manager still didn't detect the GPU, nor could I use it. There were times were uninstalling the driver and restarting the unit worked the past view days, but the next time I would boot up/ restart the laptop, the driver wouldn't respond again. Now, that temporary trick wouldn't work anymore. I tried a battery restart, but it still didn't work. I tried to rollback my windows version, or even use an older version of the GPU driver, but all of these failed to fix it.

If it helps to figure out the problem, I have a cooling pad, condenser mic, pen tab, and second monitor (HDMI Splitter to switch between pen tab and second monitor since I just use one at a time) connected to it.

You need to do a hard reset, turn the laptop off, undo the back cover and take the screws out, pry the back cover off and disconnect and take the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and take the ram out, leave everything disconnected for 15min and then reconnect everything and reboot, this should reset the laptop and turn the laptop on including the screen with a generic driver, if you have uninstalled the RTX 3060 driver.

After the reset, install the latest RTX 3060 game ready driver and use the Clean Install feature of the new driver, as that will completely uninstall all previous NVidia drivers from your laptop, then reinstall the new driver, then install GeForce Experience software as this software applies the ultimate gaming settings for your RTX3060 to perform at its best.

Make sure that you install the last bios update caled 1.Enable Win11 SV2 Support. Version:1.10, which installs compatibility for the Win-11 version 22H2 update called Sun Valley 2 update and also includes a previous bios update called “ 1.Update NV QBoost Setting. 2.Update AMD PI code. 3.Update new Panel ID.

Also, at the bottom of the BIOS/Firmware you need to "Update Nvidia discrete VGA VBIOS and improve performance.Version:v102a" that is essential for the RTX3060 to preform to its best. Be warned: that you need to have your laptop performing 100% without any crashes and/or BSODs when you do the bios and firmware updates, so make sure that your laptop performs 100% before attempting these updates and most importantly you know how to do a bios and firmware update as I take no responsibility if you brick your laptop.
