Go to Task Manager Startup Apps then look for Empowering Technologies in the list and disable it in top right corner for Win-11 or Win-10 it should be down the bottom left corner, then restart your computer. That should fix your problem., good luck

    Acer AL2416W

After switcing on a dialog box appears sayin Empowering Technology . The screen then flickers and another box appears saying Auto Config please wait. This then happens every few seconds.

have looked on task manager for this empowering technology in start up but cannot find. Picture is fine and colours ok.

  • Hi @fulton It may be related to the resolution and the video refresh rate, how do you have it configured?

Have never altered video or refresh rate. the monitor has always work perfectly as it came out of the box. Have tried contacting Acer HOPELESS.

  • Is the video driver provided by Acer or did you install the one from the video card manufacturer?

It is provided by the video card, checked on settings running at 60.000Hz

  • Try uninstalling the driver from device manager and reboot.

A generic will be installed, test if the problem is solved.

If it is resolved, download the latest driver available from the Acer page for your model.

Once installed, go to Windows Update to see if it offers you a newer update.

The Empowering Technology popup is an application Acer used to install as part of their typical build. I believe it's been replaced these days with Acer Care Center. It's not an issue with the monitor, just an app on the computer. You can use msconfig to disable that app from starting or just uninstall it, but then it won't be monitoring things like your disk health...

Hi Have conneted a HP monitor and it works perfectly, no problems. The problem is only when using the Acer monitor.

The menu won't work properly if there is no video signal from the PC. Did you check the PC video signal output and cable connection?

The problem only happens when using the Acer monitor. Have connected a HP monitor using the same connection leads, and it works perfectly. And the Enpowering Technology box does not appear. When I change back to the Acer monitor the box appears.

Do you mean that the empowering technology menu was much sharper before this happened?

Unplug all the cables including power . Press and hold its power button for about a minute. Try it again.
